Tiger Tales Dec. 3rd

Dear Colfax Families,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family! We are refreshed and excited to finish out 2015 strong with your child and his/her learning!

During the month of December, we are challenging all students to attend school 95% or more of the time! We will be tracking attendance from December 1st through December 17th. DPS Students Featured During Santa Fe Art Walk

Last week, the first Lady of Denver, Mary Louise Lee, and her Bringing Back the Arts Foundation hosted a celebration to unveil DPS student artwork at Point Gallery during the Santa Fe district art walk. More than 200 pieces of student artwork from 18 different schools were displayed at several galleries. Students created work that reflected the theme, “We are all Denver.” Colfax’s Celica Muñoz (right) won 3rd place in the 4th-5th grade category. This is a signature event of the First Lady’s BBTA Foundation, which works to restore arts programs in DPS, expand access to our city’s cultural institutions for all residents and spotlight local performing artists. Congratulations to our talented students on an amazing collaborative show!
