About Me:

Hi everyone! My name is Jamie Hellwig (Ms. H) and I am thrilled and thankful to be working as the music teacher at Colfax. This is my second year teaching general music full time and I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us.

I grew up in the foothills of Yosemite National Park in Oakhurst, California but moved to Denver, Colorado in the summer of 2021. I graduated from California State University Long Beach (CSULB) with a bachelors in music and a minor in child development.

I am a strong and passionate advocate for music in public schools and believe that music is an empowering and inspirational gift that students can take with them for life. I am so excited to explore a variety of instruments, songs, rhymes, dances, and musical games so students can engage their creativity and musicality.

In my free time, I love to create art, compose original music, ski, and explore the natural wonders of this state.
