About Me:

As a young child, I had difficult circumstances I had to overcome when my father committed suicide when I was 8 years old. Having received an abundance of help from others, I knew I wanted to spend my days helping others overcome their adversity. I started my journey getting my Bachelor’s in Social Work and worked for the Phoenix Fire Department as a Trauma Response Team Member.

I got an opportunity to join Teach for America and move to the island of Hawai’i and teach at a Hawaiian Charter School. I spent 2 years there, learning the language, teaching elementary school and immersing myself in the culture. My school now, is unfortunately under lava, but the memories are still fond in my heart. I moved to Denver after and have been working with Denver Public Schools for 10 years and have spent 9 of those as a Colfax Tiger!

I am a mom of 4, ranging from 3 years old to 26 years old and 3 granddaughters.  When I am not working I am in full mom mode; swim lessons, bike rides, days at the park, endless amounts of family celebrations and the occasional rest and relaxation at home with a good movie and some snuggles.
