Christian Orozco

Hello community, my name is Christian Orozco, and I am honored to be here in my first year at Colfax Elementary. I will be working in the 5th-grade team.

I started in education as a Native Language Tutor at a bilingual school in 2003, due to my knowledge of Spanish. I later became a teacher and worked in the same school in the Boulder Valley School District. My experience is in multicultural education in a Spanish-speaking setting. I feel privileged to do the same at Colfax Elementary.

I am very energetic and like to make my lessons engaging and entertaining. I have high expectations for my students and strongly believe all students are capable of performing at the highest levels. I believe education, in all aspects of life, is the most important intangible element humans can acquire in their lifetime.

I was raised attending an English-Bilingual school in Cali, Colombia, South America.

In my time off, I love to be in nature with my son. We like to go camping, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and rock climbing. I enjoy absorbing what interests me in books or videos. I ride my bike and practice martial arts to stay healthy.  I’m also busy in the garden for the season. When we are not traveling to experience new places, we travel to visit my sisters and their families.
